Stratafix Spiral PDS Suture, Violet, Size 3-0, 15 cm, SH Needle is a knotless, absorbable suture designed for efficient soft tissue approximation. Constructed from polydioxanone, the suture maintains extended tensile strength and ensures reliable wound closure during critical healing phases. 

The suture features a spiral barbed design that eliminates the need for knots, promoting consistent tension distribution along the wound edge. Its barbs anchor securely within the tissue, enabling controlled tissue approximation with reduced operative time. The absence of knots reduces the potential for foreign body reaction and improves surgical efficiency.

Tensile strength retention is approximately 80% at two weeks, 70% at four weeks, and 60% at six weeks. Complete absorption occurs within 182 to 238 days through hydrolysis. These characteristics make the suture suitable for procedures where long-term support is needed, yet gradual absorption is desirable without the need for suture removal.
